Master of Divinity (MDiv) / Master of Arts (MA)

The Master of Divinity programme enables university graduates to obtain comprehensive theological knowledge, gain ministry skills, and specialize in a chosen discipline. Thus, the degree both prepares students for Christian ministry and qualifies them to teach at graduate (BTh) level. This programme fulfils the entry requirements of the Asia Theological Association for MTh. SAIACS students who have completed MA can opt to add on a third year and gain a MDiv degree, thus making themselves eligible
for MTh.

The MDiv is a three-year full-time residential programme, the first two years being the two-year MA.

It is possible for students to choose one of six specializations (subject to feasibility) during the third year of their MDiv: Old Testament, New Testament, Theology, Pastoral Theology and Counselling (PTC), Missiology, and Study of Religions.

SAIACS offers an alternate award option by the University of Mysore, where the same programme is called Master of Arts (Advanced) and is identical in content to the MDiv, though additional exams and fees will be required.
